"Thank you for giving me this opportunity to respond. My wife and I just returned home to the USA 3 days ago from a magical 4 week vacation living in Sicily. We rented a 2 floor apartment on the side of the mountain high above Castelmola proper on Constrada Spasale. Castelmola was the closest place to our rental (about 10 minute drive) for restaurants and shopping. We used the small Market several times for grocery shopping and it was extremely well stocked and the produce and bread were fresh and delicious. We went to Catholic Mass at Chiesa di San Nicolò di Bari and were treated like neighbors by the parishioners, and we even think the Priest welcomed us at the closing of the service although we do not speak good Sicilian. We found the parking easy, predictably available, reasonably priced and safe. The short hike up the steps and road to the village was easily accessible for two people in their early 70s. Our favorite restaurant without question was Nina's and their staff grew to know us quickly...everything we ate there was wonderful, the Margherita pizza the best I've ever had, the gelato, cannolis, soup, coffee...all excellent, and again was priced very reasonably. The only views better than those in Castelmola were the ones from our balcony at our apartment, and the vistas from the top of Monte Venere! The only other town we visited that was as beautiful, friendly, delicious, safe, comfortable and interesting as Castelmola was Cefalù, and we visited many! We will return! - Jim and Amelia Lawless "
